Free Dating Sites Vs Paid Sites
Quick, which would you rather have: a paid dating site, or a free dating site?
If you said that you’d prefer a free dating site, you’re not alone—but you’re probably going to be alone for a lot longer.
Here’s another quiz: which would you think is more likely to be a scam, a free dating site, or a paid dating site?
If you said a paid dating site, you’re wrong again! Let’s go through this so you don’t think we’re just talking a load of rubbish.
Before we go any further, let’s look at an important question: if you aren’t paying for a free dating site, WHO IS?
The answer is that it’s advertisements paying for that free site. Every page that you as a free member click gives the website money. You might say that it’s not a big deal to have to look at a bunch of ads in exchange for getting to use a free dating site, but you’re making people a LOT of money. Besides, you might not be getting off as free as you think…
Free dating sites = spam, scams, and traps.
There’s no filter on a free dating site. ANYONE can create a profile—and anyone can send you messages. Most of the messages that you’ll receive are probably going to be something like:
“I WAS SAD AND ALONE BUT NOW I AM HAPPY AND WEALTHY JUST STOP WASTING UR TIME GO TO MARRYARICHBLOKE.COM YOU WILL SEE THE LIGHT TOO”
Once you get about 50 of these, you stop getting excited about seeing your “New message” icon light up. In fact, checking your site can be a huge chore instead of exciting, which can lead to you not wanting to check it at all.
This will KILL your desire to find a date online.
Wading through ads and spam is very annoying, but it’s not the worst thing about free dating sites. The WORST thing about them is the fact that there are so many SCAMS around.
This one is a lot more dangerous for the men than for the ladies, but probably applies a bit to both. The problem is that it doesn’t take a criminal scam artist any longer to set up a scam profile than it takes you.
It also doesn’t COST them any more than it costs you. Once they’re members, they can send messages to thousands of men daily, telling them that they’d LOVE to get together, it’s only that right now they’re a bit stuck overseas, and if you could just send a bit of cash for a flight…
Anyone asking for money on a dating site is a scam artist.
Protect yourself, and make sure you know a person outside of a computer screen before you even entertain the idea of giving them any money whatsoever. You still probably shouldn’t, but at least you won’t find out that you’ve been financing some portly man who works at Tesco.
If you can’t be sure you’re talking to a real woman who wants to date you, what’s the point of the site being free? You’re wasting your time and making someone else wealthy, all for the sake of saving a few pounds.
If you can’t afford a pay dating site, a free dating site is not a good alternative. It’s almost impossible to meet proper women on them. Take the time you would spend on a free dating site and use it to work a second job until you can afford 20 quid a month for a real site.
A paid site means that everyone is serious.
There’s one more thing you have to remember about paid dating sites: everyone ELSE is paying, too.
If you’re on a site where everyone is paying, it’s a damn site more likely that everyone who’s on that site is going to be serious about dating, and they’re not just going to be there to play around. You can afford to be a bit more serious, because the people you’ll be talking to online will be more serious right back at you.
It’s the difference between going to an exclusive club and going to a club that lets anyone become a member. Which of those do you think usually has the best people inside?
Women also prefer paid sites because that means that they’re not going to be fending off every bored man who wants to find a piece for the evening. They’re just going to be dealing with the men who are as serious about finding a date as they are.
This means they’ll be more open and excited about dating you! Everyone wins!
