Save the Date: The Small Things She Wants You to Remember
There are classic scenes in the movies that every woman wishes she could live. It could be a romantic kiss in the rain, or a breakfast in bed scenario, complete with a single rose. One of the classics that gets her every time is when the seemingly macho man pulls out all of the memories associated with the milestones in the relationship: the first kiss, what she was wearing when they fell in love, or other things like that. It’s so simple, yet so sweet because the guy remembered every detail.
Then reality sets in. You’re a guy and remembering that sort of stuff isn’t your forte. However, if you put an effort into it and write down some key memories, then you’re guaranteed to be her “perfect man.”
That First Kiss
Make note of your first kiss, but not just when it happened. What was she wearing? Was her hair up or down? Was there music playing? Where did it happen? You don’t have to remember all of these details, but the more you do the better.
The First Dance
Remember your first dance. This one is a little bit more impressive. She’ll swoon when you can tell her the name of the song you danced to and where you were dancing. Maybe it’s not a typical slow song. It could have been a jive or hip hop song. The important part is that you remember doing it. Was she laughing a lot? Did she look sexy doing it? Did someone fall down and cause a giggling fit? Again, if you can remember what she looked like you’ll get even more brownie points.
The First Date
Where was your first date? This seems like an obvious one, but you’d be surprised how it could slip your mind since there are most likely a ton of wonderful dates that have followed. Where did you eat, what did she order, and what was she wearing? All typical questions that will make her happy. Also keep in mind anything that might have been a little off. Did someone spill food on their shirt? Was the waiter obnoxious? Were your palms sweaty the whole time? The more detailed and unique things that you can remember, the more special it will be.
These are some pretty ordinary events to try to recall or make note of, but that doesn’t mean that they’re the only ones. Anything that is special to the two of you. It could have been the first wedding you went to together, the moment you knew you wanted to marry her, or the first day she moved in with you. Just figure out an easy way to keep track of those things. If she happens to find out that you’re keeping track of these things, then she’ll probably think that you are romantic and sensitive. It’s a plus either way.
